*Bright Stars 1-3 Vipers SC
(Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku)
Vipers came from a goal down to beat Bright Stars in a commanding performance at Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Mohamed Kisekka’s team finished the game with a man down after Farouk Katongole was sent off – the lanky forward who was cautioned in the 41st minute, received matching orders in the 88th minute after a clumsy foul on Tito Okello.
Enock Walusimbi put the hosts in an early lead inside the 28th minute when he headed in from Alfred Onek’s freekick.
Vipers, who had a dull first half, leveled matters when Abram Ndugwa tapped in from Fahad Bayo’s low cross in the 48th minute before Dan Sserunkuma fired home the second for the Venoms four minutes later from Allan Kayiwa’s assist.
Substitute Brian Nkuubi who had replaced Ndugwa in the 86th minute scored from the freekick that had resulted from Katongole’s red card foul incident.
Vipers could have scored more but earlier, Farouk Musisi directed his freekick over the bar while Sserunkuma and Bayo also missed a couple of chances as Vipers dominated proceedings.
Next for Vipers is a home against Tooro United on Tuesday at Kitende while Brights Stars will be visitors at Wankulukuku against Express FC.
Elsewhere, URA FC beat Maroons 3-0 to go on top while Express lost to BUL FC 1-0 on the road in Njeru.
