BUL FC Coach Peter Onen commended his side’s preparations in the preseason for a perfect start in the league.
The coach also credited the ongoing FUFA restructuring of the game after his side managed to beat Express FC 1-0 at Njeru in their league opener.
Deogracious Ojok’s lone strike proved enough to give BUL FC maximum points against the six time league winners.
Onen, speaking after the victory, noted:
“We have won because of the good preparations we had prior to the start of the season. I also have to say that the FUFA restructuring that has seen clubs try to turn professional has also helped us and that’s why you see we are succeeding in things that used not to happen.”
When asked about his new players performance, he commented:
“I can’t comment on my new players because many did not feature because of the licensing procedure.”
BUL FC beat Kyetume FC, Burundi’s Aigle Noir and South Sudan in their practice matches before the league kickoff.
Since July, BUL has been holding two training sessions in a day including a gym session at Health First gym in Jinja.
The BIDCO sponsored side finished seventh last season with 43 points and will look for a better placement this campaign.
BUL will lock to continue with their good start of the season when they visit Police FC on 3rd September. However, it’s not yet known whether Police FC will be in the country as the side is attending East Africa Police games.
Police FC also missed their league opener against Onduparaka FC on Friday at Luzira.
