Busoga Vs KCCA: Defending Champions Bank On Unbeaten Record

*Busoga United Vs KCCA FC – 4:30PM

KCCA FC will bank on their impressive head to head advantage against Busoga United when the two sides face off in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game at FUFA Technical centre in Njeru.

The UPL defending champions have not lost to Busoga United (former Kirinya Jinja SS) – KCCA FC have won four and shared spoils in the other two games.

KCCA FC beat Busoga 2-0 on the road

Last season, Mike Mutyaba bagged a brace in the second round game to hand KCCA FC a deserved win. The sides had played a goalless draw in the reverse fixture.

“Yes, we beat them but they have been one of our bogey side,” KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi said on Monday ahead of the fixture. “They always give us a hard time and I expect them to come with a point to prove.”

“They will come to play with desire and these clubs always react to playing a passing game when they face us which becomes good for us.”

KCCA FC is expected to name almost a similar team that beat Wakiso Giants in their league opener at Lugogo.

Busoga Seek To Upset Odds

Busoga lost 2-1 to Tooro United in their league opener despite putting up a big challenge.

The side conceded goals from their former players – Frederik Kigozi and John Semazzi.

Coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko noted that he lost the game due to a bad pitch – the game was played at a waterlogged Wankulukuku.

“We lost due to bad weather, but my players played some good football. We made some few mistakes in the goalkeeping area and it cost us but the major challenge was because of the waterlogged pitch,” Bogere said after the loss to Tooro.

“It was like a rugby game, it had no formulae but we shall play a good game against KCCA, the first one has been challenging and now we expect good results. We want to be among the top five.”

The side will rely on Dan Ssewava who scored their goal at Wankulukuku and Joel Madondo for the goals. Kirya Jerome, Vicent Zziwa and Hakim Magombe will also play a vital role for the team that lost Fred Amaku to Maroons.

Isaac Isinde and new signing Shafic Kakeeto Nana looked a promising centre back pairing and will hope to provide a good wall to goalkeeper Benson Wagima or Ali Kimera.

This will be Busoga’s first league game at home this season, and will be realistically unfortunate to host KCCA FC on an artificial turf which is also at Lugogo.
