Express FC captain Disan Galiwango is confident that his team will compete favourably this season.
The six time winners are one of the less fancied sides in the 2019/20 UPL season and have been tipped by many as possible favourites for the drop.
The club had a false start to their league campaign when they lost to Peter Onen’s BUL FC 1-0 at Njeru but Disan claims that there is no need for an alarm.
“There are somethings that we did very late and that affected us to concede that one goa,” Galiwango told the-SportsNation.com on Monday.
The captain who recently went to South Africa for trials and had a national team call up, believes that they are greatly shaping up nicely as the season continues.
“We have made some changes, the preparations have been fantastic and we are good to go. We have everything as players, we just need morale and am confident that we will win matches.”
The Red Eagles lost several integral players including John Revita and Michael Birungi. Disan claims that the new looking side will even perform better than that of last season.
“We have a new team and its not a problem as it has been the case even last season, we were new as it is now but we speak one language in football.
“We hope to finish fifth or higher in the table standings. I am ready as a captain just like every player and everyone has the responsibility and also be a leader even without an armband.”
Next for Express FC are two league games at Wankulukuku against Bright Stars and Onduparaka FC in that order.
