KCCA FC midfielder Gift Ali Abubaker has claimed that his target this season is to play as many games as he can.
Gigi, as commonly known in the football circles, has had his football career threatened by injuries.
The former Police FC and Proline player joined KCCA in July 2018 and is seeking to establish himself as a permanent fixture in Mike Mutebi’s squad.
With other impressive midfielders like Nicholas Kasozi improving each passing day, the competition for a starting place at the club is very stiff.
“The competition for places here is health and it has helped me improve as an individual,” noted Gigi on Monday at Lugogo.
“My goal this season is to play as many games as possible. I want to have consistency so as I can help my team in many ways as possible.”
Gigi played 90 minutes as KCCA FC beat Wakiso Giants in their league opener at Lugogo, and the resolute midfielder hopes for similar fortunes in games to come.
The ‘garbage collectors’ return to league action on Tuesday as KCCA FC visit Busoga United at Njeru.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” Gigi commented about their game with Busoga. “We want to win, its always important to establish a good start because it’s a long way to go. We want to retain our league title this season.”
