Onduparaka Cleared To Return Home

Onduparaka FC will host its home league games at their ground Green Light Stadium after the reinspection done by the licensing committee.

This was confirmed by UPL Secretariat after receiving a letter from FUFA informing them about the current status of the stadium after reinspection.

The letter in part reads;

“The secretariat has received a letter from FUFA indicating that Green Light Stadium has since met the minimum requirements to host UPL game.

“Accordingly, all onduparaka FC home matches will now be hosted at Green Light Stadium in the name of the game”

Onduparaka was initially denied licensing to host its games in Arua due to failure of meeting minimum standards required for any stadium to host UPL matches.

According to first inspection results, it indicated that Greenlight Stadium had no sanitary facilities, no proper dressing rooms and the pitch surface was not green enough as its required by the licensing committee.

Due to limited time prior to the start of the new season for Onduparaka to resolve the above issues or to bare disqualification, it sought refugee to Luzira Prison grounds as their new home and all its home games were scheduled there.

However, their first home game which was to be played against police FC didn’t happen because police had other engagement somewhere else so the game was called off.

Onduparaka is visiting Proline FC on Wednesday at Star Times Stadium Lugogo, and Express on September 7th at Wankulukuku

It will host its first game at Greenlight Stadium this season on 11th September against Vipers SC.
