Striker Patrick Kaddu is among the 20 players nominated for the 256 footballer of the year award.
This is the inaugural edition of the awards, an initiative of Football-256, a local website.
Kaddu scored 14 league goals to spur KCCA FC to their 13th league title last season.
He was also outstanding for Uganda Cranes, scoring the first goal against DR Congo, as the side reached knockout for the first time in 41 years.
The striker has consequently joined Morocco’s RS Berkene.
Other notable contenders on the list include Cranes captain Denis Onyango, Allan Okello and Juma Balinya.
Football-256’s boss Clive Kyazze noted that this is intended to honour talent, appreciate the best performers in a bid to grow the game of football and sports in general.
The winner, according to Kyazze, will be named on November 18.
This will be chosen by the readers of Football-256 through an online poll.
