UPL: Kyetume Hold URA At Namboole

Friday, September 6
*URA FC 0-0 Kyetume FC
*Wakiso Giants 1-0 Tooro United

Uganda Premier League newcomers Kyetume FC picked a priceless point off URA FC on matchday three of the league in an encounter played at Mandela National Stadium.

The Slaughters frustrated Sam Ssimbwa’s charges to a goalless draw in a less eventful affair.

Kyetume FC missed number one goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa who is with the Uganda Cranes’ team set for Kenya friendly but the Tax collectors failed to capitalise on the advantage.

Hudu Mulikyi and Hassan Gaata both made attempts on goal but their efforts were in vain while Yeseri Waibi shot direct at Salim Sowedi.

Ssimbwa brought on Ssenyonga Mikidad for debutant Michael Birungi while Steven Munguchi and Ronald Kigongo came on for Kalega and Ojera respectively, but the hosts couldn’t find a breakthrough.

Kyetume FC’s Isaac Kirabira, who joined as a free agent from KCCA FC, was named man of the match in a dull affair.

URA has now accumulated four points – They beat Maroons on day one before falling to Wakiso Giants.

The Mukono based side have also collected four points – They beat SC Villa in the league opener and lost to Maroons at Luzira.

URA FC and Kyetume are to face KCCA (A) and Proline FC (H) on matchday 4.
