URA FC vs Kyetume FC – 4:30PM
(Mandela National Stadium, Namboole)
URA FC returns to action on matchday three of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a home game against newly promoted Kyetume FC.
Having lost 3-1 to Wakiso Giants, Sam Ssimbwa’s charges will be seeking for solace against the slaughters.
“We did not perform well against Wakiso Giants,” said URA fullback Ashraf Mandela. “We have had a short time to recover and work on our mistakes but nonetheless, we are ready and want to win tomorrow’s game.”
URA, who finished third last season, had a good start this season with a 3-0 hammering of Maroons but looked a second best in Wakissha.
They face another newly promoted side in Kyetume who have suffered similar fate. Kyetume beat Villa but lost to Maroons on matchday one and two respectively.
“We failed to convert our chances,” said David Mutono who was reflecting on the game against Maroons in Luzira. “Our midfield looked shaky with Isaac Kirabira not doing enough – He was outstanding against Villa but went on to play Bika finals so became back very tired and didn’t give us what we wanted from him.”
“We respect URA for many reasons; he has good players and a good coach, they have been here and won a lot. But we also need points and we are ready to fight.”
Kyetume will miss first choice goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa who has been summoned for Uganda Cranes duty, Salim Sowed is in line to fill the void.
Noel Nasasira is expected to miss due to Malaria while Seif Batte and Steven Kagoda are expected to play a part.
Baker Buyala, Dan Birikwalira, Yusuf Ssaka and Robert Wurube may miss out again due to licensing issues.
