Wakiso Giants: Visiting Teams Must Come Prepared, Warns Kisala

Wakiso Giants head coach Kefa Kisala has issued cautionary advice to his next opponents after beating Tooro United.

Viane Ssekajugo scored a header as the Purple Sharks beat Tooro United 1-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at Wakissha on Friday.

The side is planning to make their home ground a fortress – This, was Wakiso’s straight home win after they pummeled URA 3-1 courtesy of goals from Tom Masiko and Karim Ndugwa (2).

“We have played well compared to our previous games,” said Kisala who was speaking after the 1-0 laboured victory. “We managed situations well today.”

“We won by one goal and didn’t conceed which is good for the players and fans. We have won two games in a row at home and visiting teams must come prepared for us.”

The Purple Sharks dominated proceedings right from the start but Tooro were determined to get a point until Ssekajugo broke the deadlock just after the hour mark when he connected Tom Masiko’s long ball.

Almost everyone, from man of the match Simon Namwanja to the goalscorer Ssekajugo, was outstanding as the newcomers accumulated six points.

Lawrence Bukenya, on loan from KCCA FC, also had an impressive performance in the middle of the park.

“Bukenya is a tested and experienced player who has played a lot of games, I liked his composure on the ball for the team as a whole.”

Wakiso Giants’ next hurdle will be a trip to Wankulukuku to face Bright stars, with the players buoyant for a third straight win.
