UPL: Police FC Fight Back To Deny SC Villa

(Mandela National Stadium, Namboole)

SC Villa and Police FC played to a one all draw on matchday four of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league.

Police’s substitute Johnson Odong, who replaced Herman Wasswa, canceled Emmanuel Kalyowa’s goal as the two sides settled for a point.

Kalyowa benefited from a Hilary Jomi’s poor clearance before looping home into an empty net to send the hosts into an early lead just after the half hour mark.

Odong leveled matters when he was put through by right back Tony Kiwalazi to squeeze the ball past Saidi Keni at near post in the 59th minute.

Ambrose Kirya and Bashir Mutanda both had chances at goal but their efforts went inches wide.

Police FC dominated possession but were sloppy at the back and failed to bury a few chances.

Wasswa, Odong and Samson Kigozi were all denied by goalkeeper Saidi Keni in what was an end to end encounter in the closing stages.

Police FC remain at the foot of the log with -1 point – They were docked three points for failure to show up against Onduparaka, lost to BUL and shared spoils with Mbarara City.

Police host Proline on October 15, while Villa visit rivals Express at Wankulukuku on Friday
