Wakiso Giants coach Kefa Kisala has stressed that the weather conditions at Wankulukuku was the reason his team struggled against Bright Stars.
Nkoonge Moses canceled Tom Masiko’s early goal to deny Wakiso maximum points in a one all draw affair.
Kisala, speaking after the draw, noted that it would have been a different result if it wasn’t for a soggy pitch which was unplayable.
“I blame this result on the weather which made the pitch conditions very poor,” started Kisala. “We didn’t play according to plan. The waterlogged pitch hindered our plays.”
“I give credit to my players for adjusting and adapting to these conditions and am happy for the result, its a point earned.”
The coach noted that his side want to collect as many points as they can in the early stage of the season so as to get a better placement.
“We are fighting to see that we are collecting points at an early stage to fall where where we have to be” Kisala added.
He also defended his decision to bench striker Karim Ndugwa.
“Its not about starting the match, It only depends on the time a player has been brought in and the position in the right place at the right time. So it’s our game plan.”
Wakiso has accumulated seven points in four games. They lost against KCCA (1-0), beat URA and Tooro United.
