All is now set for the 2019 East Africa Badminton Challenge after the championship received sponsorship package of Sh50M from City Tyres.
There is much anticipation ahead of the annual tournament scheduled on October 4-6.
This year’s, returns bigger and better, will have seven categories and the number of participants is expected to greatly to increase according to the organisers.
The tourney was launched on Thursday, September 12 at City Oil, Sixth Street in Industrial Area Kampala.
Uganda Badminton Association Chief Executive Officer Simon Mugabi told the-SportsNation.com that there are many entries and outside registration has been supported.
The participants will register in entries ranging from Under 10, U13, U19, professionals, Universities, Corporates, Indians and Chines – The latter is the latest addition.
Seven countries including East African nations, India and China have confirmed participation.
City Tyres (Corporates),
Mbogo High’s Tracy Naluwooza (U19), UCU (University), Mbabazi Gladys (women) and Brian Kasirye (men) are some of the defending champions.
