KCCA FC will be seeking for a good result in Angola when they take on Atletico Petroleos de Luanda in the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

This is the first leg of first round of the CAF Champions league with the winner on aggregate earning a ticket to the lucrative group stages.

To reach this stage, KCCA FC beat Namibia’s African Stars while Luanda beat Lesotho’s Matlama.

“We are ready for the challenge,” KCCA FC assistant coach Morley Byrkwaso said. “We have trained well, and we have acclimatized to the environment.”

“We came to Angola with a mission and hopefully we can accomplish it. We are aware of our opponents and their style of play and we shall try to diffuse them.”

The sides will be hoping for a cleansheet, but an away goal will be an added advantage before the return leg in Kampala.

The club didn’t travel with Nicholas Kasozi (injured) while new signings John Revita, John Odumegwu, Keziron Kizito and Erisa Ssekisambu are ineligible to play.

Head coach Mike Mutebi will bank on the attacking trio of Allan Okello, Sadat Anaku and Mike Mutyaba for the goals.

It should be noted that this will be KCCA’s second continental game in Angola – They faced Agosto in 2017.
