Maroons Vs Bright Stars: Visitors Target Maiden Victory

Bright Stars target first win in the 2019/20 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season when they visit Maroons on Matchday five.

The Mohammed Kisekka coached team is without a win from their four games so far – They have collected two points so far. Two draws (Express and Wakiso) and as many losses (Vipers and Busoga United).

The club will officially start new life without skipper Nelson Ssenkatuka who joined Moroccan club Moghreb. However, he had not played a single game in the ongoing season.

Bright Stars will have their hope in Jungu Methodius, Jamil Karisa and Brian Kayanja going forward.

Maroons FC, under coach Douglas Bamweyana, have six points from three games. They lost their opener 3-1 against URA FC but have managed to bounce back with wins against Kyetume FC and Tooro United.

Their last visit to Luzira came on 6th March 2019 and the host managed to pick maximmum points.

Bright Stars XI

Steven Mukwala, on loan from Vipers, will be the club’s source of goals. He has scored twice in the league so far for the Prison Warders. Ronald Orombi, Solomon Walusimbi and defender Edie Kapampa are the other players to watch out for the hosts.

Maroons FC and Bright Stars FC have had six league meetings with both sides wining twice while the other two have ended in draws.

Maroons won 1-0 last season at Luzira – Pius Obuya scored from the spot after referee William Oloya judged Bright Stars defender Derrick Ngobi to have handled the ball in the box.

Bright Stars had won the first round game 3-1 at Mwererwe with Ssenkatuka (2) and Augustine Kacancu on target while Rashid Agau’s goal proved to be the consolation.
