UPL: Onduparaka Edge Busoga To Go Second

Onduparaka picked maximum points on the road with a 1-0 win against Busoga United on matchday five of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league.

Rajab Kakooza powered in off captain Wahab Gadaffi’s freekick at the stroke of halftime in a closely contested game at Njeru.

The Carterpillars had Caesar Okhuti’s effort rattle the crossbar while Ali Kimera denied Joel Jangeyambe, Vitalis Tabu and substitute Abdul Lukwata.

The win, third from four games, sends Onduparaka FC to nine points, just behind leaders SC Villa at 10.

Onduparaka FC who lost against Proline FC, beat Express FC and had picked a walkover against Police FC on matchday one. BUL FC and Maroons also have nine points.

This was Busoga’s third loss from five games. They beat BUL FC and Bright stars after defeats against Tooro and KCCA FC.

Busoga will return to action on October 1 against Mbarara at Luzira Prisons while Onduparaka FC will host Wakiso Giants in their first game in Arua this season.
