Wakiso Giants: Defensive Mistake Cost Us – Kisala

Wakiso Giants tactician Kefa Kisala has expressed disappointment over his team’s defensive error during their 1-0 home loss to BUL FC on matchday five of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league.

Ibrahim Kiyemba connected in his own net from Charles Ssebutinde’s cross as the Purple Sharks suffered their first home loss, second overall, in the league this season.

In his interview after the match, he also talked about BUL’s defensive strategy that made it difficult for his team to break down.

“We came with our plan of attack but in the end BUL had their plan of seating at the back which eventually worked for them,” Kisala noted.

“It was unfortunate and we would have conceded earlier because our defense was poor. We made a mistake and scored in our net which is means that we have lost four points in a space of about two days.”

The newly promoted side lost to KCCA FC in the league opener but bounced back to beat URA FC and Tooro United. They were however held by Bright Stars 1-1 at Wankulukuku before the loss to BUL FC.

Speaking about his next opponents, Kisala believes there is still much work to do as they prepare to face Onduparaka FC and Mbarara City FC.

“We have two weeks and we are going to rectify our mistakes ahead of our next opponents to continue with the battle. There is no pressure needed, we have 25 games still to play.”
