Uganda Natball Federation has appointed Rashid Mubiru as the new coach of the She Cranes, it’s official.

Mubiru will be assisted by Robert Kisitu.

The pair replaces Vicent Kiwanuka and Nelson Bogere who led Uganda at the recent 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England.

Mubiru returns to the fold after coaching the side in the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia. He was the coach of Team Uganda in 2018 World University Netball championship held at Makerere University.

Mubiru, born on 30 December 1979 in Rubaga, had controversially replaced Fred Mugerwa in 2015 just three weeks to the World Cup.

His immediate task will be to help the team ahead of the upcoming African Netball Championship set in South Africa next month.

Uganda are placed sixth in the International Netball Rankings and will be seeking to retain championship in South Africa.
