Uganda Martyrs and Makerere Business School will meet on Wednesday for the University Football league quarterfinals return leg in Nkozi.

The first leg of this fixture ended goalless in Nakawa on September 4, and UMU will seek to make their home advantage count in a bid to reach the semis.

MUBS have won this crown two times – 2014 and 2015, while Uganda Martyrs are seeking for their second title after winning it in 2017.

MUBs sports tutor Hillary Kimbugwe Godfrey has expects a tough encounter but he is very optimistic that his side will do enough to qualify to the semis.

“It’s going to be a difficult game,” said Kimbugwe. “It reminds me the time we eliminated Gulu when every one didn’t believe in us on our way to winning the second tittle in 2015.”

“After a 0-0 result in first leg, we are going to approach the game by using a counter attack system because we will have to be very tactical in defending. It is not going to be an easy game as both teams are former champions.”

Kiggundu Tony Ssali, UMU’s Sports Tutor noted that they picked many lessons in the first leg and are in good position to benefit from their home advantage.

This will be the sixth meeting between the two sides, the Nakawa based University has won three, lost once and shared spoils once.

In 2015, MUBs beat UMU 4-0 in the final and UMU made their revenge successful with a 2-0 win in 2017 final.
