*Burundi 0-3 Uganda
Uganda cranes put one step in Cameroon for the 2020 Total African Nations championship after an away win against Burundi.
Uganda Cranes, under the stewardship of Coach Abdallah Mubiru, eased past Burundi with a 0-3 victory at Intwari stadium in Bujumbura.
Viane Sekajugo, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Kizza Mustafa were on target to give the Cranes an important win on the road.
The Cranes will need to at least avoid defeat in the return leg in Kampala to qualify for the finals for a fifth straight attempt.
Viane put Uganda in an early lead when he bundled home just after 13 minutes.
The hosts tried to press hard for an equaliser but a strong Uganda backline absorbed all the pressure to give the Cranes a narrow 1-0 lead at halftime.
Muzamir doubled the advantage before substitute Mike Mutyaba assisted Kizza’s third to put the game beyond reach.
The two teams will be meeting for the return leg after a fortnight in Kampala.
