Mbarara City FC has refuted claims that they parted ways with coach Brian Ssenyondo.
This follows recent developments that saw the club appoint Paul Nkata as the head coach with Baker Kasule as the assistant.
According to the official statement issued by the club, it indicates that Ssenyondo has been assigned to coach the junior team of Mbarara city FC as the head coach.
The letter addressed to Brian Ssenyondo reads in part;
“As you may recall our previous decisions on your lack of CAF B qualification, having submitted wanting CAF B document that were rejected by the FUFA license committee and your continued wanting performance as a coach, the leadership of the club has therefore chosen to reassign you as a Mbarara City FC junior team.
“The technical and senior management team will continue to review your performance as a junior Team head coach in respect to the club’s performance goals and objectives.”
A source close to Ssenyondo confirmed recently that the coach had not received a letter confirming his exit, and that he had read the news of Nkata’s appointment on social media.
The former Synergy FC tactician picked five points from five league games. He also helped the club finish third in the Pilsner Super Eight preseason tournament.
