Uganda Premier League team Maroons FC have received a financial package Sh10M from banking institution Centenary Bank.
This, is an increment of four million shillings from the six which the same bank contributed to the Luzira based club last year.
The boost has come in the right time when the club is at its best start in the league – Douglas Bamweyana’s troops are third on the 16-team log with nine points. They have three wins from four games so far.
While Receiving the dummy cheque from General manager Commercial banking Mr Michael Jjingo, the Commissioner General of prisons Dr. Johnson Byabashaija assured and pledged to keep the partnership strong and fruitful.
“Am very gratified for your generous offer of this sponsorship,” said Byabashaija. “We want to assure you that we shall strive to make this relationship mutually exclusive.”
According to the bank, the contribution is a continuity of the bank efforts to nature talents through sports initiatives and as well as harness Cooperate Social Responsible support towards the community.
It should be noted that Centenary Bank also sponsors Police FC, Masaza Cup among others.
“We applaud Maroons for the success achieved in giving services to our people over years in terms of talents and rehabilitation,” stated Jingo.

The two time League champions will return to action on October 1 with a visit BUL FC at Njeru.
