CECAFA U-20: Uganda Hippos Squander Lead To Draw Sudan

Sudan’s second half goals from Ammar Mohammad and Abbas Namir cancelled out strikes from Hippos’ Steven Sserwadda and Bright Anukani as both teams settled for a draw in the last game of group A.

Uganda dominated from the start, with Sadat Anaku coming close, before Sserwadda scored in the 20th minute after collecting from Aziz Kayondo’s corner to get off the mark.

Anukani doubled the lead at the hour mark after strolling through Sudanese’s defence right from the center mark.

Sudan brought a goal back – Mohammed headed home past goalie Dennis Otim to make it 2-1 in the 73th minute.

With five minutes to the end, Sudan found an equalizer through Namir to silence Pece Stadium

The result sees Uganda finish third and will be transfering camp to Jinja for the quarters.
