*KCCA FC Vs Petro Atletico De Launda
KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi has predicted an entertaining thriller with Petro Atletico De Luanda. The gaffer commented that fans should expect a goals fiesta as both teams play an attacking brand of football.
KCCA FC will host Angola’s Petro on Friday at Lugogo in the return leg of the CAF Champions League first round.
The reverse fixture ended goalless and KCCA will need victory to reach the lucrative group stages.
“We are not safe after drawing goalless in Angola which brings the tie in a tricky fixture but we are playing at home and this gives us the advantage,” noted Mutebi in a press briefing on Thursday morning at Lugogo.
“We are playing a team that uses the ball very well, they play at the front foot which also help us play our way.
“I believe we have enough armoury to negotiate the challenge. We had a good game in Angola and we had a goal disallowed.”
Despite looking the second best in the first leg, KCCA FC had chances to break the deadlock including a disallowed Allan Okello’s header off a teasing cross by Mustafa Kizza.
The gaffer als noted that Petro plays like their rivals Primero D’Agosto, a team which gave them a big challenge in 2017.
“We expect a great match as both teams are going to come for attacking football. Its going to be an interesting game and and don’t be surprised when you see a 4-2 result because we want good football and good football is punctuated by goals,” Mutebi added.
Mutebi revealed that he is not worried of his side scoring late as long as they earn the victors crown.
“Scoring an early goal will be everyone’s target and whoever scores first will have a big advantage. We will be careful but we will play our way and whatever time the goal comes, I am not concerned.
“We are going to play in an organised manner against a team that uses the ball better than us.”
KCCA FC beat African Stars 2-0 at the StartTimes stadium after a 2-1 loss in Namibia to reach this stage.
The ‘Garbage Collectors’ will be targeting to reach this season’s group stages, a feat they achieved in the 2017/18 season after eliminating Ethiopia’s St.George at Startimes stadium.
