Katwe United 0-1 Vipers: More Needs To Be Done – Golola

Vipers coach Edward Golola feels that there is more load for his team this season especially as they prepare to face bitter rivals SC Villa on October 2.

The coach was not convinced with his side’s performance despite beating Katwe United 1-0 in a friendly game at Namboole.

Brian Kalumba slotted home in the 42nd minute after Katwe United goalkeeper Eric Dhaira spilled Ashraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume’s thunderous shot.

Dhaira put up a good display for the promoted big league side, denying Mzee Dan Sserunkuma twice in the first half and kept out efforts from Karim Watambala and Henry Kitegenyi.

“We have to be at our best if we are to beat SC Villa on October 2,” Golola told the-SportsNation.com exclusively.

“We need to improve a lot especially the way we manage the ball, our scoring is still lacking but my biggest worry is in the defence where we need to improve on our man to man marking especially in the set pieces and one on one situations.”

Golola doesn’t want his troops to rest on their laurels ahead of the upcoming battle with SC Villa and hinted that he may organise another friendly before the league clash on Wednesday.

Vipers drew one all with Busiro before beating Kajjansi United 5-0 last week in the friendly games.

The coach saw his side come from down to beat Bright Stars 3-1 in their league opener, labour to a 1-0 win against Tooro United after left back Farouk Musisi was sent off before a 2-2 draw with their bogey side Mbarara City FC.

Golola is keen for his players to continue working hard towards his philosophy.
