NBL: Betway Power Out To Seal Semifinal Slot

Friday, September 27
*A1 Challenge Vs UCU Lady Canons – 6:30PM
*JKL Dolphins Vs Betway Power – 8:30OPM

Betway Power will seek to finalise business when they face JKL Dolphins in game two of the best of three quarter final NBL Playoffs at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

Power won game one 74-35 and a win on Friday will send the side to the semifinals where they will await winner between UCU Canons and KCCA Men.

After a poor regular season by their standards, Power’s title credentials were in a shade but they managed to control proceedings in game one and proved all doubters wrong.

Syrus Kiviiri scored a game high 15 points and will be their fulcrum once again. The team will demand more commanding performances from Amini Mkosa who also contributed 15 points, Phillip Ameny, Joseph Ikong, Geoffrey Soro among others.

JKL looked a shadow of themselves and have put themselves into a big pit after that poor display in game one.

However, the side still has faint hopes of producing a shocker after beating Power twice in the regular season but will need the team’s pillars Ivan Lumanyika, Brian Namake, Joseph Wacha and Brian Muramba among others to be at their best.

Elsewhere, UCU Lady Canons who won game one 57-51 will hope to sweep A1 Challenge in the first encounter to set up a KCCA Leopards semifinals duel.
