Mbarara Vs Busoga: All Eyes On New Coach Nkata

Tuesday, October 1
*Mbarara City FC Vs Busoga United – 4:30PM
(Luzira Prisons ground)

Mbarara City FC new head coach Paul Nkata will be targeting maximum points as his side play host to visiting Busoga United on matchday six of the StarTimes UPL at Luzira.

Nkata was recently appointed till the end of the season, replacing a young Brian Ssenyondo who has been demoted to the role of a Junior teams coach.

Ssenyondo, who was appointed on an interim basis following the departure of Livingston Mbabazi to Onduparaka before the start of this season, had impressed in his short tenure but two points from the last four league games created a unrest.

Nkata’s immediate task will be to help the club retun to winning ways, with their only win so far coming against Proline FC on the opening matchday.

This will be Nkata’s first job in Uganda since parting ways with URA FC after a 7-2 heavy loss to KCCA FC on April 24, 2018; a period of 525 days!

In that tenure in between, he has coached Kenya’s Kakamega Homeboys where he resigned following allegations of match fixing.

If he is to have a perfect start, he will do without Jasper Ahebwa and new signing Ibrahim Magandaazi who are not yet fit. Ivan Eyam lost his aunt while Siraje Musindo is also expected to miss out

The club also confirmed that Salim Huud and Tom Ikara are back to the team after missing out a couple of games while Bamba , Adriko John and Bashir Muweesi will make the team for the first time this season.

What Challenge Do The Visitors Pose?

Busoga United have played five league games and have won twice, lost the other three.

They beat Bright Stars and BUL FC before a home loss against Onduparaka and the side will be seeking to return to winning ways.
