UPL: Winless Bright Stars Hold Struggling URA

Tuesday, October 1
*Proline 2-1 Express
*Bright Stars 0-0 URA SC
*BUL 2-0 Maroons
*Kyetume 0-1 Police
*Mbarara City 2-1 Busoga

Struggling URA extended Bright Stars’ search for a league win as the two sides played out a goalless draw on matchday six at Wankulukuku.

Bright stars, hosting games at Wankulukuku, came into the game on the back of a 3-2 loss to Maroons and the draw against URA is their third this season.

URA looked a better side in both stanzas, bossing with a midfield partnership of Shafiq Kagimu and Saidi Kyeyune, but they failed to break the hosts’ defense on a frustrating day.

Ronald Kigongo came in for Joachim Ojera before halftime while Cromwell Rwothomio paved way for Michael Birungi in the second half, but the moves didn’t yield a needed win for Sam Ssimbwa.

The tax collectors have five points from as many games – They beat Maroons and shared spoils with Kyetume FC. URA lost to Wakiso Giants and Tooro United.

They will host BUL FC on matchday seven (Saturday) before visiting Onduparaka FC on The day next week.

Bright stars who lost to Vipers, Busoga United and Maroons, visit KCCA FC before facing Tooro United.
