Police FC earned their first win of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL season with a close victory against newly promoted kyetume on match-day six.
Ben Ocen’s goal proved the difference as the sides faced off at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Ocen proved the hero, scoring in at the 45th minute mark to hand the Copps their first win.
The three points clears the debt they never borrowed after being docked off 3 points for missing their league opener against Onduparaka.
Police coach Abdallah Mubiru, who was very happy for the win, thanked God for the victory and commended the good play put up by both sides and he hopes that this could be the turning point for his side to start collecting more points in next games.
“We thank God for the victory, it was an entertaining game where both sides came to compete with one another,” Mubiru told the press. “It was exciting though we missed a lot of chance but we hope to start collecting points.”
Goalscorer Ocen was named the Pilsner man of the match.
Despite the win, police remain seated second from the bottom with two points while Kyetume remain 12th with four points on a log of 16 teams.
Police play Express FC in match-day seven while Kyetume visit Tooro United.
