*SC Villa 0-0 Vipers SC
SC Villa and Vipers SC played out a goalless draw on match-day six of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole under floodlights.
The much anticipated affair never lived as advertised but both sides will consider it as a point earned.
Mzee Dan Sserunkuma had a goal ruled out for offside before his penalty appeal was waived when he was brought down in the box by Keeper Saidi Keni.
Sserunkuma also had his long range effort headed off the line by debutant Gavin Kizito with Keni already miles off his goal line.
The hosts managed to pocket on form Vipers striker Fahad Bayo but they failed to benefit from their dominance especially in the first stanza.
Mutanda was denied by the post in the ninth minute and also had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half.
Emmanuel Kalyowa shot direct at Fabien Mutombora while Edward Kaziba’s introduction of NIcholas Kabonge and Charles Lwanga failed to make a needed difference.
The draw leaves SC Villa in third place with 11 points behind joint leaders Onduparaka and BUL while Vipers move to eight points.
Villa will return to action against Busoga United on Saturday at Njeru as Vipers will host Proline at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
