Tooro United: Penalty Hero Meddie Kibirige Dreams Big

Meddie Kibirige saved two penalties as Tooro United edged KCCA FC on matchday six of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL at St Paul Seminary ground.

The goalkeeper denied both Mike Mutyaba and Allan Okello in game Tooro captain Mike Kawooya was sent off before Charles Lukwago put a dagger in KCCA’s heart.

Kibirige, in an exclusive interview, hinted that they will settle for nothing but a league tittle this season.

“I am obviously happy other any other player would be on such day,” Kibirige started.

“I thank my coaches who have helped me improve my game, giving me guidance daily. We fought hard and I think we deserved the win.

“We all have hopes of winning the tittle especially for Tooro united and our target is achievable given the fact that we have returned to Fort Portal where we haven’t lost a game.”

Kibirige will seek to prove doubters wrong this season after settling for a place on the bench last season with Joel Mutakubwa, now at Kyetume, starting in the posts.

Tooro, fifth with nine points, will welcome Kyetume FC on Saturday at the St. Paul Seminary ground.
