UPL: King Oyo Hails Kibirige, Tooro United

His Majesty the Omukama Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, the King of Tooro Kingdom, has appreciated the outstanding performance displayed by Tooro United after their laboured win against KCCA FC.

Tooro who had captain Mike Kawooya sent off before halftime, stunned defending champions KCCA to record a 1-0 win on match-day six of UPL at St Paul Seminary ground, Fort portal.

Goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige saved two penalties – denying Allan Okello and Mike Mutyaba – to hand the hosts their win playing at St Paul Seminary in Fort Portal for the first time.

Charles Musiige’s 74th minute lonely strike proved the difference as Tooro registered their third win of the season.

King Oyo, through his twitter handle, passed out the congratulatory message, and commended efforts from goalkeeper Kibirige.

“I Congratulate Tooro United for defeating KCCA and ending their perfect start. Special mention to our Keeper Medhi Kibirigge for saving 2 penalties. Let’s Keep the momentum. Tooro is behind you all the way!” Reads the king’s tweet.

The win sent Tooro in 5th position on the table standings, with nine points from five game.

Tooro United will seek to put up another strong performance when they host Kyetume FC on matchday seven on Saturday 5th.
