All eyes will be on Vipers striker Fahad Bayo as the side host Proline FC on matchday seven of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL season.

Bayo joined Proline in 2014 when he was 16 years. He scored 16 goals in the 2015/16 season as the club got promoted to the Uganda Premier League before leaving for greener pastures to join Zambia’s Buildcon in January 2018.

He has since returned and previously signed for Vipers where he has scored three league goals – a winner against Tooro and a brace in a 2-2 draw Vs Mbarara.

The Venoms have drawn their last two games – against Mbarara City and SC Villa – and Bayo will be key if they are to return to winning ways.

“We have to keep our heads up and pedal harder especially during this quite congested section of the fixtures list,” Bayo told Vipers website.

“We shall not panic but instead correct our mistakes and play better because winning is our objective.”

Brian Nkuubi, Allan Kayiwa, Farouk Musisi, Frank Zaga Tumwesigye and Ashraf Mugume are all available for selection after missing previous game(s).

Proline come into the game with the right momentum after beating Express 2-1 and knocking Rwanda’s AS Kigali out of the CAF Confederation.

Coached by Matia Lule, Proline will front Ivan Bogere, Edirisa Lubega Torres and former Vipers forward Hamis Diego Kiiza to stun the Kitende based side.

The last meeting between these sides saw Denis Mwemezi’s goal the difference in the Super Eight tournament as Vipers went on to lift the second edition of the preseason cup.

It promises to be a long day for the Proline defenders led by Captain Mustafa Mujuzi whose ability will be put on test against the attacking armoury of the Venoms.

The Journey so far:

*Bright Stars 1-3 Vipers
*Vipers 1-0 Tooro United
*Vipers 2-2 Mbarara
*SC Villa 0-0 Vipers

Proline FC
*Mbarara 3-0 Proline
*Proline 1-0 Onduparaka
*Proline 0-3 Villa (Walkover)
*Proline 2-1 Express
