Players Abroad: Miya Bags Brace

Farouk Miya scored a double as his side Konyaspor beat Kasimpasa on Saturday in the top flight of the Turkish Super League.

Miya takes his tally to four goals – He had scored against Antalyaspor and Denizlispor.

Omer Sahiner and Marko Jevtovic scored one each for Konyaspor at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium before Miya provided the icing on the cake.

Farouk Miya celebrates one of his two goals.

Miya made it 3-0 at the stroke of halftime, Veysel Sari brought one back for the hosts.

Miya completed his brace from the spot just after the hour mark.

The forward who joined Konyaspor from Croatia’s HNK Gorica, will hope for similar fortunes when his side visit Yeni Malatyaspor on October 21 after the international break.

Miya is not part of the Cranes squad to face Ethiopia summoned recently, with William Kizito, Patrick Henry Kaddu, Emma Okwi among those preferred to provide goals in what will be Jonathan Mckinstry’s first game in charge of Uganda Cranes on October 13.
