UPL: Kyetume Hand Tooro First Loss In Fort Portal

Kyetume FC beat Tooro United on matchday seven of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL in a game played at St Paul National Seminary in Fort Portal.

Sharif Ssaka headed in the first for the slaughters in the 41st minute before veteran player Vicent Kayizzi put the final nail in Tooro’s coffin in the 88th minute.

The loss, was the first suffered by Tooro United in Fort Portal – The record stretches back from last season when they played their first league game at Buhinga against Onduparaka FC.

“We played a good game though it wasn’t an easy one but the players had a good plan especially after the few changes we made,” said Kyetume FC coach George Best Nsimbe after the win.

“The fans who made the trip were amazing. The boys executed as told and handled the situation accordingly.”

Nsimbe however expressed his discontent with the officials, with five of his players booked and consequently, Benon Tahomera will miss out on their next game against Express FC.

Tooro United bench against KCCA FC

Tooro despite being the favourites to win on paper, huffed and puffed but even with the introduction of John Byamukama (34′), Faizol Ssekyanzi (46′) and Willy Kavuma (60′) couldn’t get past former player Joel Mutakubwa.

The loss comes few days after the Car dealers stunned defending champions KCCA FC.

This is the second win for Kyetume FC who also beat SC Villa in the league opener under Namboole floodlights. The club had lost twice and drawn once in between.

Kyetume, in 11th with seven points, will play host to Express FC in their next league engagement on Tuesday at Namboole before trips to Bright Stars and KCCa FC in that order.

Wasswa Bbosa’s team who had won two games – URA and KCCA – in a row, are seventh with nine points and will face Bright Stars on Tuesday at Wankulukuku before retuning to Fort Portal to entertain BUL FC.
