UPL: BUL Beat Tooro To Remain On Top

Friday, October 11
*KCCA 4-0 Onduparaka
*Tooro 1-2 BUL

BUL FC fought back to beat hosts Tooro United on match-day nine of the StarTimes UPL at St Paul Seminary ground in Fort Portal.

Yafeesi Mubiru put the hosts in an early lead in the sixth minute but could later fluff a penalty that would have been an equaliser late in the game – His penalty kick rattled the post.

Musa Esenu equalised matters in the second half in the 63rd minute before Robert Mukongotya’s late strike in the 81st minute sealed a laboured win.

“It was successful game if we are to go with our planning but it wasn’t a simple game. The hard work of the boys and their team spirit helped us accumulate all the three points,” BUL coach Peter Onen commented after the victory.

The win, sixth from eight games, extends BUL’s lead atop to 19 points, four above second placed SC Villa who will face Maroons at Luzira on Saturday.

BUL who had beaten defending champions KCCA FC 3-0 in their previous game, have now gone five games without a loss. They have only dropped points twice – a 3-0 loss against Jinja rivals Busoga and a 1-1 draw against URA at Namboole.
