*KCCA 4-0 Onduparaka

Mike Mutyaba hit an hat-trick as KCCA FC beat Onduparaka FC to return to winning ways on match-day nine of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL at Lugogo.

Youngster Sadat Anaku scored the opener just after the half hour mark as KCCA won 4-0 to extend their dominance against the Carterpillars.

The Lugogo based side withered through an early storm after the visitors failed to put away their chances in a well attended encounter.

The result extends KCCA’s impressive run against Onduparaka at Lugogo – They beat the side 7-0 in 2016/17, 4-1 in 2017/18 and 1-0 last season.

KCCA ends a five game winless run, including a double header draw against Petro Atletico De Luanda on the continent. The side had suffered two losses from their last three league games, highlighted by a 3-0 loss to BUL at Njeru.

A Deserved Home Win

Anaku scored a beauty, raced on Keziron Kizito’s ball to set himself free with a back heeled flip past Dudu Ramathan before slotting past goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa.

Mutyaba doubled the advantage in the second half with a rebounding shot at point blank range after Wasswa had spilled substitute Erisa Ssekisambu’s shot.

The veteran forward got his brace with a long range shot after collecting a short corner from left back Mustafa Kizza.

He then grabbed his hat-trick from the spot after defender Atendele Geriga slashed Anaku in the box.

Mutyaba would have made it four but had his header with a keeper beaten go wide, he also had two long range shots in the first half with one rattling the crossbar while the other was kept out by Wasswa. The shot stopper also denied Mustafa’s freekick and a fingertip save on Anaku’s effort from outside the box.

The visitors had their best chances in the first half with Rajab Kakooza forcing Charles Lukwago into an early save, Gibson Adinho missed from close range with his shot going off target and Rashid Mohammed headed out Gadafi Wahab’s corner.

Ibrahim Faizul had a weak attempt easily collected by Lukwago.

This, is Mutyaba’s second hat-trick since he joined KCCAas a free agent. He scored three against Amuka Stars in an 8-2 win on Boxing day of 2018 in Uganda Cup round of 64.

Now on ten points from six games, Mike Mutebi’s charges will return to action against Kyetume at Lugogo on October 15 before hosting Paradou in CAF Confederation Cup.

The Carterpillars, coached by Livingston Mbabazi, have lost their successive game after coming into the tie on the back of a home loss against URA in URA. The team will host Tooro on Wednesday.
