Vipers Vs Express: Red Eagles Seek First Win At Kitende

Express FC face hosts Vipers on match-day nine on Saturday in the StarTimes UPL at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende in a TV game.

The visitors have never won at Kitende, and their last win when visiting Vipers came on September 23, 2016 at Nakivubo.

Derrick Tekkwo tapped in after beautiful work from Saddam Juma as Alex Gitta and Wasswa Bbosa’s Express beat Abdallah Mubiru’s Vipers then, 1-0.

Express has visited Kitende twice in the league and are yet to score a single goal at the state of the art stadium – Dan Mzee Sserunkuma scored a brace and hat-trick respectively in 2017 (2-0) and 2018 (5-0) respectively.

Weighing Scale;

Vipers, fourth with 14 points, could go second with a win if Villa fail to beat Maroons at Luzira on Saturday.

Express FC on the other hand, are eighth on the log with 10 points but can go a point behind Vipers with a win.

Vipers are yet to lose a game this season, they have only dropped points in successive draws against Mbarara and SC Villa.

The Red Eagles come into the game on the back of two back to back victories against Police and Kyetume, keeping their first cleansheet in the latter.

Team News:

Vipers will miss Allan Kayiwa who is with the Cranes in Ethiopia, Brian Nkuubi is doubtful while the match comes early for striker Shaban Mohammed.

Innocent Wafula is fully fit having missed the trip to Lugogo through flue, the club confirmed.

Andrew Kiwanuka returns after missing win against Kyetume in Namboole but Mathias Muwanga, Baffoe and Cyrus Kibande are still sidelined.
