Douglas Bamweyana will be the centre of attention as Maroons seek to arrest SC Villa at Luzira Prisons grounds on match-day nine of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL.
Bamweyana, who parted ways with Villa towards the end of last season, joined Maroons before the start of this ongoing season and has made enormous improvements that have made the club a hard nut to crack.
The soft spoken coach, voted September’s best by UPL after beating Villa’s Edward Kaziba, has led his club to 5th with 12 points, three points below second placed SC Villa who has 15.
At Villa, Bamweyana who replaced Moses Basena was not appreciated despite helping the club beat the drop – although he was sacked before the club officially beat the drop – And he will have a point to prove on Saturday.
Fred Amaku who suffered a lower back strain is expected to play a part after missing the last games, midfielder Davis Mayanja returns after serving his one-game suspension of yellow cards accumulation. Edgar Bwogi is also expected to return from injury as well.
Bamweyana will hope that his attackers Steven Mukwala, Pius Obuya, Solomon Walusimbi and Rashid Agau get the best from a Villa backline of Ibrahim Kibumba, Yayo Lutimba, Gavin Kizito and Asuman Alishe.
SC Villa are on a five game unbeaten run, including a 2-0 win against Wakiso Giants at Namboole in their last encounter while Maroons managed to overcome Mbarara City to win 2-1 late in the game.
Last season, Ronald Magwali scored the only goal at Luzira as Villa beat Maroons 1-0, the reverse fixture at Namboole had ended one all.
