Uganda will be well represented at this year’s NBA Academy Africa Women’s Program Training Camp hosted by the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Maria Najjuma has been chosen to participate in third edition of the camp set to be held in Senegal next month.

The camp will feature players from across the African continent between November 14th-17th.

The NBA Academies Women’s Program is a series of elite basketball development camps at the league’s academies for top female prospects.

Najjuma was individually selected by the NBA and NBA Africa based on her outstanding basketball skills and leadership abilities.

While representing Uganda at the FIBA Africa Zone 5 Qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda earlier this year, Najjuma averaged 33.2 rebounds and 24.5 points and left everyone bowing in approval.

The 15-year old will have the opportunity of improving her basketball ability.

She will get the chance of being coached by WNBA legend/NBA Africa Assistant Technical Director, Astou Ndiaye and WNBA Legend/Olympic Gold Medalist Jennifer Azzi.

Najjuma will also get to interact with several other players her age from across the continent.

Locally, Najjuma turns out for Javon Lady Phenoms in Division One League (Women).
