Express FC coach George Ssimwogerere has been hit with a fine of Sh500,000 by the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP).
The CDP, through a ruling seen in a document addressing the club, has found Sim guilty of ordering the ball boys to hide match balls during a game against Police FC.
In the said game that took place on Friday, October 4, 2019, Express beat Police FC 5-3 at Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The said incident happened in the 58th minute when Sim is said to have told the ball boys to hide the balls which delayed restart.
The CDP finds that;
Express FC head coach Ssimwogerere George ordered the ball boys to hide the balls during the aforementioned match.
Accordingly, CDP makes the following orders;
Mr. Ssimwogerere George is WARNED against repeating the same actions and fined UGX 500,000 (Five hundred thousand shillings only) to be paid by 23rd October 2019. Failure to pay the said fine shall lead to suspension from the
Express FC is encouraged to prevail over its club officials.
This is the second time the club is fined for hiding balls during a league game. The same incident happened in the 2017/18 season against Mbarara City FC and the club was fined Sh1M. The Red Eagles won the game 1-0 thanks to David Ndihabwe.
Express FC who lost 3-0 away to Vipers in Kitende in their last league game, are 11th on the log with 10 points and will return to action against Busoga United on October 29 before an away fixture against Wakiso Giants on November 2.
