Uganda Cranes: Ntambi Misses Training After Accident

Midfielder Kirizestom Ntambi has missed Uganda Cranes training session on Thursday at Lugogo after a minor accident on a boda-boda.

Coach Abdallah Mubiru confirmed the development when asked on why the player sat out during the morning session.

“We have been dealt with a huge blow this morning,” Abdallah said. “One of our players Ntambi got an accident this morning on his way to Lugogo.”

The player, who managed to make it at Lugogo, was seen limping and with his shirt having dirty patches.

Abdallah noted that he is waiting for confirmation from the team doctors on whether Ntambi will be in good position to face Burundi on Saturday.

Uganda lead the CHAN tie 3-0 ahead of the return leg at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

Ntambi played Wednesday evening practice game between Uganda Cranes CHAN-bound team and KCCA FC at Lugogo which ended goalless.

He, together with Allan Kayiwa, was part of the senior team that played against Ethiopia in an international friendly on Sunday. He came on for Allan Kyambadde inside the first half as Cranes won 1-0 thanks to Emmanuel Okwi strike.
