Uganda Cranes coach Abdallah Mubiru has warned his players to guard against complacency as they face Burundi on Saturday.
Uganda Cranes have a 3-0 advantage and host Burundi in the return leg at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
Abdallah’s side are just 90 minutes away from sealing a fifth consecutive qualification.
“The tie is not yet over,” said Abdallah. “I want my players to stay focussed and stay in character. They should not take Burundi for granted. They are capable of surprising us. Yes we beat them in Bujumbura but they are a good side who play good football.”
“We have tried to focus on how we can prevent the opponent to build from the back and my players have been responding well. We will do our best to go through.”
Goals from Viane Ssekajugo, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Mustafa Kizza were enough to give Cranes a 3-0 win.
Muzamiru is out of the match-day squad because of injury but the addition of goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and Vipers duo Allan Kayiwa and youngster Abdul Karim Watambala makes the team stronger.
