Maroons FC forward Rashid Agau has gone missing, the Luzira based club has confirmed the development.

This comes as the team prepares to face defending UPL champions KCCA FC in a rescheduled game on Tuesday at Luzira Prisons ground.

The only disappointment to our predations leading to this game is Agau who has gone AWOL (in Arua) since we afforded the team a three days’ break,” reads a post on Maroons’ official Facebook page.

He scored against Kyetume FC this season in a game where he was named man of the match and he was the club’s leading goalscorer last season with seven goals.

The former Onduparaka FC player was part of Maroons’ team that drew goalless against Villa in Luzira in their last league engagement, and the club has stated that he will follow disciplinary proceedings on return for his ‘unprofessional behaviour’.

The scoring burden remains on the Steven Mukwala, Pius Obuya and Solomon Walusimbi as Maroons look to deny KCCA.

Can KCCA FC Pick Maximum Points

Three points separate seventh placed Maroons (13) and KCCA FC (10) in eighth place. The visitors will leapfrog Douglas Bamweyana’s side with a victory as they have a better goal difference.

KCCA who returned to winning ways after beating Onduparaka 4-0, will be looking for a win to pick the right momentum as they prepare to host Paradou FC in the CAF Champions league on Sunday.

KCCA’s Allan Okello, Mike Mutyaba, John Revita, Mustafa Kizza and Nicholas Kasozi were on national duty on Saturday as Uganda Cranes beat Burundi to qualify for CHAN 2020 and Mike Mutebi is expected to make changes in his team in a bid to bring in fresh legs.

However, his choice might be limited as this fixture comes early for the recovering Muzamir Mutyaba and Julius Poloto while Eric Ssenjobe, Jurua Hassan and Saddam Juma remain long term absentees.

“We expect a tough challenge from Maroons FC. They play a good brand of football but we are ready for the challenge,” Mutebi said on Monday.

“After getting that huge win against Onduparaka, I expect the players to build on that win and keep going till the end. It is important that the National team players are back and there was positivity in camp in the training sessions ahead of this fixture.

“The competition in the side is good for us coaches and players. Also, Anaku is back from the sick bay and he is in contention to start against Maroons FC.”

Last season, Jackson Nunda’s goal was enough as KCCA beat Maroons 1-0 at Luzira and the side also won 6-1 on the coronation day at Lugogo.
