Wakiso Giants Receive Injury Boost

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) newbies Wakiso Giants have received a timely boost in their squad after the return of Captain and first choice Goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi.

The shot stopper has been out since early September nursing an injury.

The skipper picked an injury on match-day two played on Tuesday, September 3rd, as the Purple Sharks beat URA 3-1 at kabaka Kyabaggu Sports ground in Wakiso.

After 46 days, Mugabi returned to training on Sunday with Kefa Kisala’s senior first tea squad, the club confirmed.

“The team Captain Yasin “Gabis” Mugabi returns to training after an injury lay off” reads a tweet on club’s official page.

He will compete with Derrick Emukule and George William Katende against Police FC on October 29th.

Ayub Kisalita and Yasin Mugume remain the only injured players at the club while Tom Masiko has started training alone and expected to be fit in their next engagements.

The purple sharks are sixth on the 16-team log with 13 points from nine games – They have won four, lost four and draw one.
