*Kyetume 1-0 Proline
*Vipers 2-1 BUL
*Maroons 1-3 KCCA
Striker Robert Ssentongo scored the only goal of the game as Kyetume FC extended Proline’s nightmare.
The veteran forward struck in the 51st minute, sweeping home a Sharif Ssaka’s low cross to get off the mark this season.
Ssentongo is expected to be integral for the Slaughters this season because of his vast experience. He is a three time Uganda Premier League top-scorer, achieving all the milestones with URA FC.
Proline FC had chances to level matters but struck the woodwork twice while substitute Noordin Bunjo who had replaced Ibrahim Wamanah fluffed his effort with custodian Joel Mutakubwa already beaten.
Kyetume absorbed Proline’s late surge and did enough to close out an affair of newly promoted entities and also take revenge against a side that eliminated them from last season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Kyetume who won their second game on a trot, they had beaten Bright Stars at Wankulukuku, move to seventh place with 13 points.
Proline who have lost four in a row, remain rooted on the 16-team log without a point.
Kyetume host Vipers at Namboole before visiting BUL at Njeru while Proline visit Al Nasr in CAF Confederation Cup.
