FIFA Rankings: Uganda Improve, Leaders Revealed

Uganda Cranes moved a place to 79th position in the latest FIFA Rankings released on October 24.

They however remain 16th in Africa while retaining their top spot in the CECAFA region.

Uganda has played three games since the last grades were revealed on September 19 – They beat Burundi home and away in CHAN a one nil away win against Ethiopia in an international friendly.

Uganda’s highest rank was 62nd in January 2016 while they achieved their lowest (121) in July 2002.

Neighbours Kenya have dropped a place to 108th position, Rwanda and Tanzania are 129 and 133th respectively.

Uganda’s opponents in Africa Cup of Nations Burkina Faso moved a place to 60th, Malawi remained 124th while South Sudan are one of the big movers after climbing 11 places to occupy 162nd position.

Senegal (20) and Tunisia (29) maintained their spots at the top of African log while third placed Nigeria dropped to 35th.

Overall, Belgium, France, Brazil and England maintained their grip on the top spots while Uruguay leapfrogged Portugal in fourth as the latter settled for fifth place.
