Onduparaka Vs Vipers: Venoms’ Unbeaten Run On The Line

*Onduparaka Vs Vipers – 4PM

Onduparaka will go all out to stop leaders Vipers on Saturday in a rescheduled StarTimes UPL encounter at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Vipers visit the West Nile with high hopes; top of the log with 20 points and still unbeaten after eight games.

The Venoms recorded their fourth straight win after overcoming BUL to storm the summit with Allan Kayiwa and Frank Zaga Tumwesigye on target at Kitende.

Edward Golola’s only dark spots in an impressive start has two draws – 2-2 with Mbarara at Kitende and a goalless draw against record winners SC Villa.

“We shall of course change our approach because Onduparaka is a different team with different tactics,” Golola told Vipers’ website after the victory against BUL.

“Today we played a physical opponent so we had to adjust accordingly. It is always not easy to visit Green Light stadium but we have enough time between now and Saturday to see how we go about this game.”

Vipers have not won in Arua in their last three visits, but have picked a point each in their last two away games against Onduparaka. They beat the side 3-0 in Kitende last season with Geoffrey Wasswa, Dan Sserunkuma and Livingston Mulondo on target.

Speaking about Wasswa, the versatile player returned against BUL after recovering from a long layoff that sidelined him from about seven months. He looked understandably rusty but will play a role on Friday.

Former Onduparaka FC players Mohammed Shaban and Rashid Toha who joined Vipers before the start of the season are expected to watch this from sideline as they continue to nurse respective injuries.

Onduparaka have lost their last two games, falling to KCCA (A) and URA (H) but remain within touching distance; fourth on the table with 15 points.

Probable XI
Onduparaka FC – Yusuf Wasswa, Dudu Ramathan, Atendele Geriga, Rashid Mohammed, Rashid Okocha, Paul Dumba, Ibrahim Faizul, Gibson Adinho, Gadafi Wahab, Rajab Kakooza, Caesar Okhuti
