The 2019/20 Futsal Super League kicks off on Monday.
The third edition returns with only six teams – Park FC, Intercity, Kabowa, Aidenal, Kisenyi and Mengo City FC – instead of 14 teams from the previous season.
”As full members, we undertook club licensing process for long term stable and self sustaining clubs,” Futsal Association Chairman Junju Hamza briefly explained on the new number.
“The core areas of licencing include: Governance – must be registered company with clear Ownership, H/R – Technical team and Player Contracts and PR person in place, Subscription – Sh2M, Brand building & Marketing – Social Media presence ( FB,Twitter).”
In the inaugural edition, led by Jamil Kaliisa and Mike Mutyaba who kater joined mainstream football, Dream FC edged KSPG to the title.
Yeak Kabowa gathered 66 points, 12 better than Park FC, to win the second edition.
Unlike the previous two editions which were held at International Futsal courts in Mengo on Thursday, this year’s edition will be played every Monday at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
Yeak Kabowa’s duo Enock Ssebagala and Shafick Avemah were MVP and Topscorer respectively last season while Park’s Mubiru Given was the best goalkeeper.
