Guinness Night Football: Eight Teams Skip First Hurdle

The inaugural Guinness Night Football kicked off in Uganda with the first leg played on Friday at Lugogo’s forest mall in Kampala.

Many revellers managed to brave the evening’s poor weather conditions to turn up in big numbers on a night where artiste Bebe Cool headlined the entertainment.

Eight teams – Jabulani, Sona, Naguru United, Socceroos, C-Club, Team 13, Sound boys and Mpala – playing the competitive Foosball qualified to the country finals, with a trip to Nigeria in sight.

The next stop will be in Fort Portal, then to Mbale before the final in Kampala on December 7, 2019.

The night’s experience was upped by the colorful neon UV technology with Table Foosball, skills challenges and Head games on the menu as well.

Guinness Brand Manager Cathy Twesigye briefly commented: ” It has been a good turnup and this is good for the start. Ugandans have embraced this initiative and we are sure that brings more fun, a testament that we are made of more, creating football with a Guinness touch.”
